French company develops a sci-fi grill with a staggering price tag
While many people would consider barbecuing an art form, the French company Cesarré seems to think that a BBQ grill should be a piece of art as well. The result is Kara, a BBQ that features two concentric rings and looks like it would be more at home in the sci-fi TV series Stargate SG-1. Well aware that fine art is often expensive, the company have also attached an impressive price tag to the grill.
Inside the two carefully angled rings is a suspended cooking platform that relies on an otherwise ordinary fuel source – charcoal. While that means you don’t have to buy a new form of intergalactic fuel to cook your hamburgers, it does ruin a bit of the mystery that surrounds the BBQ grill.
As for the price tag – an eye-watering $7,300.
BBQs are great, pieces of fine art are equally great, but combining the two seems like trying to have too much of a good thing in one piece of design. If you have money to burn, then this is probably the perfect summer accessory, but for everyone else, it’s just nice to look at for a few minutes on the Internet.
