Outdoor Lighting - Provides Added Enjoyment, Security, Safety and Usability
Outdoor Lighting
Does your landscaped yard have outdoor lighting? If not, it’s missing a lot of potential! As simple as it may sound, professionally installed outdoor lighting around your home provides added enjoyment, security, safety and usability. There will be no more tripping or sliding, with less chances of break-in attempts the more lights you have around the walkways and entry ways of your home. And when your yard, patio, outdoor kitchen, or a pool is well lit, they can continue to be utilized and enjoyed beyond sunset, thus extending the amount of time you can spend outside. However, there is more to outdoor lighting than just simply enjoying these benefits, you need to make the right decisions when choosing an appropriate outdoor lighting system.
Landscape Lighting
Have you ever wondered why there are different shapes, sizes, and designs of landscape lights? To give different landscape lighting effects, of course! Generally, we have uplighting and downlighting, which functions are pretty obvious by their names. The use of uplighting creates attention and automatically makes an area a focal point. Highlighting, wall washing, grazing, scalloping, and silhouetting are some of its techniques. Meanwhile, downlighting shines down to objects and typically used for safety and security purposes, say for walkways and driveways. This type of landscape lighting is also the best choice for recreational areas like a deck and an outdoor living room.
Decorative Lighting
One of the purposes of decorative lighting is to add beauty to a landscape. These outdoor lighting fixtures have fancier look and provide a more aesthetically appealing effect. You can find these copying the looks of butterflies, dragonflies, giant bugs, and birds. Some are even in the shapes of flowers, trees, and fruits. Others are more practical as decorative effect and sensible purpose are combined, like in the case of asteroid lights, cube lights, string lights, paver lights, and illuminated planter pots. There are jollier designs, such as those with peace symbol, wine glasses, Japanese lanterns, and disco balls. There are also other decorative lighting products, which provide elegant and classic appeal.
Solar Lighting
One of the drawbacks of having an outdoor lighting system is the danger and expense. A single damage on wirings can cost you a lot, not to mention that powering it up all night would mean enormous electricity bill. Both of these are resolved with solar lighting. Since powered by the sun’s energy, these lights never require complex and dangerous wiring. How these work is pretty simple. Each light has a solar energy collector and battery. During daytime, solar energy is collected and saved. Most solar lighting products are also equipped with light detectors, which cause them to automatically turn on when it’s dark enough.
