Landscape lighting is not only essential for safety and security, but can also be a key element in the design of a landscape. As such, each year LASN publishes lighting projects from landscape architects across the nation, however, this year LASN also talked with lighting designer Nick Williams from Woodland Hills, Calif.

In 2013, the owners of this Omaha, Neb., home contacted McKay Landscape Lighting to overhaul the landscape lighting. McKay had installed lighting in 1999, and again in 2010 under a new owner. The new landscape on the property included a new paver driveway, a pondless water feature and a number of new plantings in the front and back yards.

Lumen maintenance of these white LED lamps is greater than 70 percent at 35,000 hours of operation, based on engineering testing and probability analysis.
