Great Water Features for your Landscape

Water features are great additions to any outdoor space. They will instantly grab attention and lend a classy look to your landscape. You can add various water features such as ponds or fountains without breaking the bank and if your budget permits you can even opt for a full-fledged outdoor spa or jacuzzi.

Pool deck fountains

Pool deck fountains come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors. Examples include bubbling brooks and cascading streams. Not only do they accent the area around the pool but also offer a classy focal point. While choosing a fountain, look for one that will maximize the space while complementing the overall pool area.

Laminar Jets

Laminar jets or flow fountains are quite a popular option as well. They produce a beautiful arc of water as they enter your pool. The water flow can be adjusted to reach a height of up to nine feet in a variety of shooting patterns. You can place laminar fountains on your pool deck or in the wall surrounding your pool. Either way, the effects can be stunning.

Some laminar fountains come with colored LED lights. They will give the shooting water a beautiful glow. You should place at least 3 fountains on each side of the pool for that perfect look.

Rock Waterfall

You can create rock waterfall fountains from stones of various colors, sizes, types and dimensions. By installing a rock waterfall extending from the wall of the pool to its edge you can create the impression that your pool is enclosed in stones. Alternatively, you can rebuild the side of your pool adjacent to the waterfall in such a way that the rocks extend to the base of the pool. If you have a small pool you should consider getting a free-standing rock waterfall.

Garden fountain bird bath

A garden fountain may also serve as a nice bird bath. The chirping of the birds and the gentle bubbling of the fountain create a soothing environment. You can also complement the pool deck with a variety of flowering plants and dwarf trees.

Garden fountains typically work by constantly recycling the water. They don't require special installation or wiring so you can install them yourself and rearrange them whenever you want.

Spa Garden Fountains

You can dramatically enhance your garden spa with sculptures and hand-crafted fountains. They are highly appealing and can act as great focal points.  What's more, the gentle waterfalls will invite your visitors to a wonderful experience.

While any water feature can be challenging due to the regular maintenance requirements, the benefits certainly make them worth while. There are many DIY water feature products that are economical and easy to install, however for larger, more complex projects, we recommend you consult with a professional landscape designer or contractor.
